WHAT is Summer Experience?
Summer Experience is an opportunity for students to practice and grow their academic skills, engage in new and fun learning adventures, and hang out with friends! Students will read, write, play math games, build and create, explore, investigate, and discover!
WHO can participate?
Students finishing Kindergarten through 4th grade can enroll in the Crested Butte Elementary Summer Experience program. 5th graders can participate in the secondary summer experience program. (Kelly Piccaro and I will be hosting a week-long arts and crafts session the first week of summer break for middle schoolers!)

WHEN is it offered?
Summer Experience is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 18 to July 18, 2024 (except for Tuesday, July 4). Students can enroll in the Morning Program (8:30-12:00) or the Full Day program (8:30-3:30).
WHERE does this take place?
Crested Butte Elementary Summer Experience happens in our school classrooms, common areas, and on our school grounds. We are outside as much as possible so dress for the mountains! Wear layers, sunscreen, and a hat. Bring snacks and a water bottle.
HOW do I register?
Registration is open from March 6 through May 13th. We need to close registration on May 13th so we can ensure we have enough staff to support our students. Go to mypaymentsplus.com and select mornings or full-day programming and your child's grade in May 2024. Pay the $25 registration fee and you're all set! Please note that lunches will not be provided this summer.
WHY should I consider this program?
"Why" is the most important question! Why participate in Summer Experience?
Being at school and socializing with friends, building community, and having a consistent connection with school are a few reasons why. Continuing to keep academic skills sharp and building new knowledge, with the added benefit of using the outdoors as a hands-on classroom- all of these reasons and so many more are the WHY. This program helps to ensure that all of our children find success at school and beyond, and our community strongly believes in supporting kids throughout the entire year. Your Summer Experience teachers have strong academic backgrounds, great rapport with our kids, and demonstrate a true love of learning. We look forward to spending the summer with you!
